We use Japan's ancient fermentation technique ‘koji’ as a base for all our dishes to bring out the natural sweetness and umami of each ingredient.Rich in natural probiotics and enzymes, our bento boxes gently support gut health while nourishing your body from the inside out.

Each bento box consists of a base layer of delicious sticky rice, topped with either Salmon, Chicken Karaage or Tofu, as selected by each customer. Alongside, you may typically find an assortment of tamagoyaki, egg, sprouts, radish, sweet potato, potato salad, okra, pepper, cabbage, aubergine...Always slowly prepared and beautifully balanced.

the order process

After joining an order club WhatsApp group, we announce available dates and menu for your specific location. You can order via DM (we'll send you a bank transfer link) then deliver to your location on the planned date.Just like traditional Japanese bento, our dishes be eaten at room temperature (this is how they are delivered). They can also be heated up in the microwave.

Koji Bento isn't fast food.Our pre-order, local delivery way of working means we can run an independent business, support our local community and keep waste to a minimum.

authentic & local

Born and raised in Tokyo, our founder Nozomi has been making Japanese bento boxes since she was 13 years old. Now living in South Bristol, she makes small batches of bento boxes and delivers them locally to businesses, events and individuals.
